Scotia Dancers is a New York City-based affiliate of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, a worldwide network dedicated to promoting Scottish Country Dance.
What is Scottish Country Dance?
Scottish country dancing is social dancing that can be spirited and lively, but also grand and elegant, danced to the music of Scottish jigs, reels, and strathspeys. Scottish country dance is rooted in a centuries-old style that survives today and continues to evolve with the continuing creation of new dance formations and musical tunes.
